Cannot Add an additional Domain Controller

by kirank_15 . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hi All,

I have Windows 2003 server DC in our LAN and now i am trying to add an additional DC in the same LAN. but i get some DNS error saying that ‘Domain controller cannot be contacted’

I am trying to dcpromo on the additional DC i supposed to. i have tried netdiag /fix and dcdiag/fix commands on the domain controller, but still no luck.

FYI,
This server was acting as a Additional DC in the LAN and i depromoted it for some reason. But i get the above error when i try to make it again as a additional DC. I have forcefully removed this server from the main DC.

Any ideas to fix this?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kiran.
