cannot connect to internet

I have a unique problem of not able to connect onto the net.

I have a desktop and a notebook which reset or reboots as long as I attach a USB wireless adapter or press the wireless button respectively. Both using windows xp as OS.

However, for this notebook, while use in the office, this rebooting did not happened and is able to connect to the net freely.

I have used Trend Micro to scan the harddisk remotely using another pc or notebook but no virus found.

I have other notebooks at home which has no such connection problems.

Can anyone advise what is wrong to the desktop and the specific notebook..
