Cannot contact ICS for IP

I have three computers all running win2k…one acts as the Internet Connection Sharing device and is multi-homed. All three worked well until I moved one to another room. The only change was a longer cable. This computer can no longer get an IP fromthe ICS computer. I have un-installed TCP/IP and re-installed, physically removed the card and re-installed – all to no avail. The computer is set to “Obtain and IP address Automatically”. But each time it boots IPCONFIG /All shows an ip outside of the private 192.168.x.x range issued by ICS. It instead is autoconfigured to another range of IP’s and therefore will not communicate. Any help would be appreciated.
