Cannot Create A Partition

I am new user of Windows 2000 Server. A third party vendor, recently installed a SCSI U160 LVD 40 GB disk on the same cable with my old SCSI-2 Ultra LVD drive. When I open Disk Management in Win2k server,I see the drive listed, but cannot create a partition and format the drive. Any suggestions on how to solve this proble would be greatly appreciated.
