Cannot ping a client pc

We recently added a Windows XP Professinal client pc to a NT domain network. For some reason this new client cannot be ping (with IP and name) nor be seen in the network neighborhood even though it can logon the LAN and access every network file/programs.
We used ipconfig and verified that the IP and name we use to ping are correct.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.
