Hi all,
I have a PC on a 2003 domain that I cannot ping by PC name. It is also screwing around with my AV deployment software and RDC. The computer in question is named printserve. If I ping printserve it actually pings printserve.co.uk. If I ping printserve.domainname.co.uk it pings the PC. The PC is on the network (I have tried taking it off and putting it back on again from My Computer>Properties)…
I have also checked in the DCs DNS and Printserve.domainname.co.uk is listed as 192.168.0.10 in the Forward lookup zones as Host(A) and as a ptr in reverse lookup zones and that is the correct IP.
Also if using RDC I can only connect to the computer if I specify printserve.domainname.co.uk.
When using AV deployment software (Mcafee ePO) I can send an agent install to the PC, but then it never connects back (although it thinks it is), and therefore won’t deploy the actual antivirus software.
This is getting rather frustrating… Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Stuart.
PS. The Network connection is set up right with IP, subnet, default gateway and DNS server.
