Can’t access my Windows Server 2003

by aaronazz . Updated 16 years, 8 months ago

Hi all. I have a newly installed Server 2003 machine, fully updated with a working nic. I have enabled remote desktop access and can access the server ok locally, but whenever I try remotely via Cisco VPN, I cannot. I have other Win servers which I can access ok. It seems to be fresh installs that I can’t connect to. I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to installing from scratch.

I am intending to run the server primarily for SmarterMail 6.5 and have had issues accessing even it from any other networks.

I have tried from VPN. I’ve tried via the public IP (with all appropriate port forwards in place) and still no dice.

Is the server locked to local access only by default?

Thanks for any help.
