can’t bring up desktop

Keep getting blue screens with various messages.
One is “A fatal exception OE has occurred at
0028-C0048BB736in VXD VFAT(01) + 00009486”

I run registry restore and sometimes I might get thru. Maybe one in ten tries.I plan to leave my computer on now that I have finally reached to internet.
