Can’t print from HP Pavilion laptop

I just received and configured an HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 7. When I configured homegroups on this laptop, it automatically configured my HP 2600N color laserjet printer. I tried printing a test page and print job shows up in the queue, but never prints.

I removed the printer and re-installed the drivers, connected the laptop to the printer via USB cable and again tried printing, still to no avail.
