Can’t read a burnt CD.

by sleepyguy1951 . Updated 20 years, 4 months ago

I have burned data to a blank CDR of my emails etc.from my girlfriend’s computer, that had accrued whilst I was visiting her recently. I have encountered a problem when trying to read the CD on my own computers at home, of which I have two. The CD-Rom attempts to read the disc and then opens it but shows nothing on it as though it’s empty. I have looked into the properties of the disc and it shows “0 free space and 0 used space”.

What is very confusing, is that the disc can be read quite normally on my girlfriend’s computer and also on a friends two desktop computers and one laptop computer. We are all running comparable computers all with XP Pro, service pack 2.

The following are details of my main computer in the hope this may help to resolve this problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yours sincerely,

David deBoeck.
