Can’t recognize Hard Drive

I have replaced many hard drives but this one has me stumped. I replaced the hard drive but now the bios won’t recogize the new hard drive it says none. It will find a cd rom. I have tried different cables and different IDE plugs. I have tried 2 hard drives that I know work in other Computers. I have even replaced the motherboard and still it says none. Please help.
