Can’t Restore Backup SBS 2003

I have a small business running 4 workstations from Windows Small Business Server 2003 (I’m a novice at this server). The server crashed and now I can’t access by backup tape with all my client files on it. I have tried using ntbackup (which was backing up the files daily) and have gone to removable media in the admin console/removeable media with no luck. I can’t find anyway to rebuild the tape catalog or to access the data on the tape to restore it.
