Can’t write to floppy

My floppy drive started giving the error massage,”can not write to drive A, the disk is write-protected.” I checked to make sure the write-protection tab on any floppy is not on, but I still get the same message. I even installed a different floppy drive and still got the same message. I need to rectify this problem ASAP. HELP!
