CD Rom shows as a Hard Drive icon.

I have a computer with two hard drives and a CD-Rom,one of the hard drives is master and the other is secondary master, the CD-Rom is set as a slave with the master HD, the CD-rom is connected at the end of the IDE cable. When I click my computer icon the CD-Rom shows as a Local HDn it doesn’t show the CD-ROM icon, all the jumpers are set correctly, the cables are tight. I wonder if the position of the hard drive and teh cd-rom in the IDE cable matter. Please let me know
