CD-RW : Erased CMOS program

Hi,

I was cleaning mg LG CD-RW the other day when I suddenly noticed that the rubber protection cover for the writer’s CMOS chip was “not on its usual space”. Now the only thing the CD does is open and close its trap. I’m definitely sure whatever is stored in that chip has vanished with the light.

Is there a way to reinstall the firmware in anyway?

I already bought a DVD Combo, I just want to check if I can use my tinkering abilities with your help to revive the CD-RW.
