CD-RW locks computer while copying files

Hi,

I have a CD-RW that locks up the computer while it is copying files to the hard drive. It doesn’t lock up right away, but after some time has passed. The last time it locked up after successfully copying 192MB of 637MB of data to the hard drive. Any ideas?

System:
Windows NT 4.0, sp6
PIII 500 MHz
384MB RAM
