cd-rw problem

A few days ago my cd rw drive just stopped reading all disks. When I put in a disk it acts like it wants to read it, but it can’t or it won’t. I tried upgrading the drivers…but nothing. I opened the cpu and nothing looked wrong. I’m stumped, pleeeeease help me!!!!
