change nt pwd on pc and then cant log into laptop for a day

I have NT 4.0 server with multiple domains, XP CLients. I was on my PC and got the message that the network pwd expired so I changed it. Now its a day later, I logged into this pc ok. Went to a different site with my laptop and tried to log into the same domain and cant. This has happened in the past and if I wait a day or so it will eventually let me in. What would cause this? I tried to log in with my user account numerous times unsuccessful, then I logged into the domain as an admin from this same laptop and was able to login. I logged off as the admin and tried my user account again and it worked. ?? IT sounds like something with my NT account right?
