Changing IP scope from 192.168.1.x to…

by eric_knopp . Updated 20 years, 11 months ago

We are currently running a Windows 2000 Server as our PDC, with DHCP and DNS running on it. We are going to be changing our Internal IP scope from the current 192.168.1.x to 10.1.44.x (to be able to succesfully link up the US and UK VPN domains). Is it as easy as:

1. Shutting down all PCs/servers except the PDC
2. Chaging the local IP address on PDC to the new 10.1.44.1xx
3. Add a new DHCP scope with the new IP range, adding in the new reservations, delete the old 192.x scope
4. Change the firewall to reflect the new IP addresses
5. Change the hard coded internal IP addresses (printers, test machines, load balanced web servers, etc)
6. Turn on the computers/servers so they receive the new IP addresses

?

Thank you,

Eric
