Chromebook/laptop to run midi

by arkey75 . Updated 5 years, 10 months ago

Hi all,

Im not very good with technical stuff so I’m hoping someone where can help me.

I’m looking to buy a 2 in 1 Laptop or chromebook. One of its main uses will be to be connected to a Yamaha digital piano to use apps like Flowkey, simply Piano, Yousician etc. I’m not sure which one(s) I would go for (this is for my nephew, not me).

My questions is, would a chromebook be able to run these apps or would I need a Windows laptop? I’ve already tried a HP Pavilion 360 (4gb ram) but returned it as the screen was too dark and I didn’t like the thick bezels, but that seemed to cope with OK, though it was a tad heavy. Would a chromebook be of use? I’m hoping not pay more than £600 tops.

Hope that makes sense and apologies if this is in the wrong section. Thanks in anticipation
