Our parent company closed, and I was given a 1711 in brand new shape. We use a Linksys BEFSR41 router. The only thing we do that is a little different is that we have 5 PCs setup with RDP, using a different port for each one; 3389 – 3393. All I want to do is setup a basic firewall to prevent intrusion, and allow access to the internal clients that need RDP access. I have looked at many articles on the on the Internet, and read the book “Cisco routers for the desperate”, but I can’t find just the basic IOS or SDM configuration fo rwhat seems to be a very basic setup. Most articles and the book go right into the areas I have no need for, and assume that the reader already knows the basic configuration commands.
I’m comfortable with the IOS command method, since it is very similar to how a Lnatronix terminal server is configured (showing my age).
