I am a student at the local community college and am taking courses which will, hopefully, prepare me for the CCNA. In order to be able to complete my lab assignments at home I purchased some used Cisco 3254 switches and some Cisco 1721 routers, both of which my instructor agreed would be within my budget and fulfill the hardware and software requirements needed in order to complete my vLAN and WLAN assignments and labs. I am nearing the half-way point in this semester and have come upon a problem getting the 3524’s to configure both STP and RSTP. Possibly this equipment will not do these protocols? If anyone knows a way around this, or if there is an alternate method for performing these configurations could you please respond?
