Hi Guys,
Tried to load a new IOS image on two 6509 switches with single Sup II Supervisors but failed…!!!
current image sup-bootflash:c6sup22-jk2s-mz.121-26.E7.bin
10181208 bytes available (21800360 bytes used)
new image s222-entservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF14.bin from disk0:
12980224 bytes available (51298304 bytes used)
The bootvar was changed to:
boot system flash disk0:s222-entservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF14.bin;sup-bootflash:c6sup22-jk2s-mz.121-26.E7.bin
When we issued the reload command the Switch went into “Rommon” mode and remain so.
When the PCMCIA Card in Disk0 was removed the Switch then booted up using the old image on the Sup-Bootflash.
Has anyone any ideas as to why this might be failing?
Could it be that our jump in IOS revisions is too much from
c6sup22-jk2s-mz.121-26.E7.bin
to
s222-entservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF14.bin
and that we should try upgrading revisions in smaller steps?
All help is much appreciated.
Regards,
Paul
