Cisco 871w Upgrading IOS and Memory, stuck in ROMMON

by mbevington . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

I bought the advanced ip services IOS – and I have to upgrade the memory to support the image.
So I stuck in a 32 meg flash, and now I get ROMMON. I tried 0x2101 + 0x2102, but I don’t get router# or router(boot) – just ROMMON. I wanted to do the TFTP download, but after setting the IP, Subnet, and Gateway in ROMMON I can’t ping the router, so the TFTP server can’t communicate it just times out. Disn’t know which port to use – so I used them all (direct pc to router with crossover cable, and thru a linksys router with cat6) just times out. Does that mean all the interfaces except the console port are disabled under ROMMON? What do I do? I’m still fairly new to Cisco, am I missing something? Driving me crazy.
Thanks a million!
