cisco e1 controller

I ahve a couple of cisco routers on my network with vwic-2mft-e1 controller cards being fed from a GSM network with data e1 links. On numerous occassions the controllers just goes down and it has to be reset by a physical loopback to come up. would anyone have clue on how to rectify this?
