Cisco Router can’t connect to modem

by braveh4rt . Updated 25 years ago

I have a cisco 1600 router and connect to the Internet using leased line.
The modem connected to the router via serial cable through the router.
|And the router is connected to the network switch and all the workstation connect to the internet through the router.
My problem is now the router cannot detect the leased line connection, and it’s says that cannot communicate to the modem.
In the configuration iu follow the manual, and before this happend it’s all fine.
The modem is ASM-31.
Then i already ask the ISP and ping my modem, then the ISP says they can ping my modem.
In the modem it’s all syncronize with the ISP modem and the modem has no problem.
Now the router cannot detect the serial connection.
i connect the modem throushserial0.
In the router console, with “show int serial0” command i can see the info about the router that says,
all up, but line protocol is down and serial0 is down.
I wonder someone can help me out.

Thank you in advanced.
