Cisco VPN client 5.0.01 and ASA 5505 tunnel only stays up with ping

I’ve been attempting to figure this not, i have limited knowledge of the cisco asa device but it appears that the IKE traffic stops being returned by the cisco asa and the tunnel times out on the client end.

It also appears that if I ping a server inside the network the IKE traffic is not needed and the tunnel stays up. Shortly after stopping the ping the tunnel will go down.

If I leave it alone and don’t ping it stays up about 20 minutes and then drops out.

Any ideas?
