My customer is using Citrix to access a web based purchasing tool that runs on Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2. Access to this tool is completely browser based, with no client install component. Workstations are on win 2000 or win 98. This application includes ellipse buttons for searching and selecting reference data – when clicked, the ellipse buttons open up another window. When one accesses this application via Citrix – the ellipse buttons don’t up a page, and the screen merely flashes, as ifsomething is preventing the ellipse button from opening a page.
This same ellipse feature works fine however, when a user accesses the same application locally, without dialing in through Citrix. Also, if the network account logged onto citrix has domain admin accounts, the ellipse button feature works, but for a network user without domain admin rights, the ellipse button does not work.
We think this is a security lockdown issue enforced by the citrix implementation. Does anyone have any ideas what we can check from a security standpoint as to what could be preventing an ellipse button from opening up another window? could this also be a browser setting? thanks.
