Client not picking up gateway from DHCP

Problem is that the desktop sometimes does not pickup Gateway from Dhcp but picks up all other infromation such as IP address, DNS information.

IBM desktop 8123-K5Q, O/s windows Xp works fine without installing Novell client.

The porblem comes after installing Novell client, we have tried with latest Novell Client the problem persists.

The network Card is integrated on 915 G Intel motherboard.

So what can be the problem it is hardware or software.
