Code to capture serial data stream

I am looking for ideas on how best to capture the input from a serial port (each record is a fixed-width field with a total of 132 characters) and write it to an Access database. Data comes in at 4800 baud so speed is not a big deal.

Is there anOCX already written for this?

Any ideas will be appreciated.
