Coma Delimited Database in VB 6.0

I have just started learning Visual Basic 6.0. I love and am having lots of fun with it. However, it doesn’t take a genius to see that it’s true power lies in database manipulation. Which brings me to the crux of my problem. I recently purchased Office 2000 Small Business Tools and VB 6.0. I am broke. No more money. However my Office 2000 did not come with Access. This makes it very difficult to create databases. I have heard that you can use a text editor (notepad) to create (I hope this is right) Coma Delimited Databases. If this is correct could someone please tell me where, or show me, how I could make a simple database?
