Hello to all! Ok, have a problem here and it’s getting really messy. I have a new fractional T1 (384KB) point-to-point circuit connecting my new site with an existing site. I have two new Cisco 2811 series routers on both ends. The CSU/DSU WIC (serial interface) on each router connects via straight through cable (I’ve tried multiple cables, all tested) to each smart jack. New site router has a serial interface assigned IP of 10.10.10.38 and the old site router has a serial interface assigned IP of 10.10.10.37. Routing on the New site router looks to 10.10.10.37 using EIGRP protocol with cdp enabled.
My first inclination was that the link itself wasn’t communicating so I had it tested, came out fine. I had a technician meet me down at the site and test it with his tester and a loopback jack and it came back fine. Ok, i thought. Then it has to be my router, router config, or my CSU/DSU WIC’s (remember that i tested out my cables).
So I carried the new router over to the old router site and connected a T1 rollover cable in order to test. Low and behold it comes right up…no problem and I’m routing out as I should be.
I call up my vendor and explain my test and all they say is that the circuit looks clean. Obviously I want to strangle them…but I want to make sure that I’ve tried everything and looked at everything possible on my end before getting their technicians back out and start swapping out smart jack cards and redoing the circuit. Anyone been down this path that can offer some advice?
