Compaq systempro/xl server issue

I have a new to me compaq systempro/xl server, it will start, and I get lights on the floppy, I get activity lights for the Hard Drives, and it will power up. The problem is I get nothing to my SVGA monitor plugged into the VGA/SVGA port that comesdirect from the motherboard. I have tried installing another video card that has both CGA and VGA ports. I tried both a CGA and SVGA monitor on this card, and again nothing. On my SVGA monitor when it is plugged into the VGA port from the motherboard, I get no change in the amber light on the monitor to indicate reception of signal. Does anyone have any suggestions?
