Does anyone have a computer management solution for a school system (not a lot of $ to spend)? Alteris and Zenworks are out of our league. Have 1500 desktops to support and the school district is cutting resources to support them. All of you Systems Admins out there who have to support 100 or more desktops with the patches, user downloads, Power Users (who aren’t really} messing up the desktop not to mention servers. How do you deal with it? The time and effort is staggering. Heard about a product called ClientSync (www.desksync.com) that actually lets the system admin do his/her real job. Beats SMS, Alteris and ZenWorks hands down… thought a post here would assist your search for a real, powerfull, inexpensive computer management tool that is bundled not suite based, that can self heal a desktop, stop unwanted downloads, manage the corporate portfolio by job description, do an inventory of hardware and software and so much more.
