computer shuts down by itself

I have a Hewlett Packard computer and after I start the machine, the computer automatically shuts itself down after a few minutes of loading files. My monitor is a Viewsonci m70 and it does not produce a desktop when started. Both of the front lights are on. Only the “right” light should be on. These two devices are connected together. Any help would be appreciated.
