I have a most unusual problem with my Systemax Legend with an AMD Athlon 1.2 ghz processor. The machine is equipped with Windows XP Home Edition. The computer will shut down unexpectedly and without warning, with no provocation and no specific software running. The computer cannot be successfully restarted for at least an hour after each occurrence. I had Windows XP installed specifically hoping that it would help any “instability” problems, along with new CD-ROM drives, and a new hard drive. None of these upgrades have assisted. The machine has even come back ON without warning after having been powered down after one of these mysterious shutdowns. Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be? When the machine cuts out, the machine gives off it’s distinctive “click” (just as it does during normal shutdown) and the hard drive light comes on and stays on. I always power down the machine immediately, but again it won’t restart successfully for at least one hour after it’s been powered off. Any insights you may have would be much appreciated!
