Config problem – can’t reach Internet

Probably easy but my brain doesn’t see the problem…. Just installed Sol 2.6 and can’t surf Internet. Added the system to DNS server (W2K). However I can ping IP’s and a nslookup to, for example, www.pepsi.com does return the IP. But “ping www.pepsi.com” fails with unknown host error. Our older Suns are working, and I have the same /etc/hosts, resolv.conf, defaultrouter files. Did I miss a file to modify? Thanks in advance if you can offer suggestions.
