Configure Windows XP Pro For ANY user

by philldmc . Updated 22 years, 9 months ago

I want to configure my XP Pro Clients so that whoever signs in on that client gets these default settings.

Network Printer as default
Proxy Settings for IE

How can this be done?

So when Billy signs in for the first time he will get those settings.

I’ve been trying to get this to work via Mandatory profiles but I’m running into issues with that. See other post.

If you have any suggestion on how I can accomplish this please let me know.

Backgound info.
(This is for a computer lab, 16 clients, 200+ Students)

Windows 2000 SP4 Domain running AD
Current Clients are WinME. I want Windows XP Pro.
Each Student has their own user name and password, each student has a protected folder on the server for personal projects, this the reason for the user name and password.
