connect pc to stereo

when connecting output jack to input jack of the stereo, it makes a humming sound on the speakers. There is also a sound mixer and beat machine, along with CD player that are also connected to the stereo receiver. Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.
