Connect to servers on private network

I have a customer who’s private network I can remotely connect to using the VPN client they gave me. However, once connected, I cannot ping or connect to the servers that are there. I cannot ping the DNS or WINS servers that are shown in the IP stack when I run IPCONFIG /ALL.

Does anyone know what I might check to correct why I cannot connect or ping these servers. I have a collegue who can connect using the same method I do. We do not know what is different.
