connecting 2 buildings- fiber optics?

We are moving some of our offices, to another building about 1000 ft. away. We’d like to connect them to our LAN. I was told the best way would be to run a fiber optic cable between the 2 buildings. I don’t know much about fiber optics. What equipment would I need to implement this? Are there any cheaper solutions rather than fiber optics? Would a wireless solution be cheaper? what would be involved in that? We have a line of sight between the buildings, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Any advice is appreciated!
