Connecting a smartphone to a dumb screen

Connect smartphone to dumb screen

I want to connect my Samsung G8 to a dumb screen I have, so I can work on the phone apps, using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse but have the larger screen to look at.

I would use a USB C to VGA cable to achieve this, so the 2 would be directly connected.

I am wondering what others think of this and what any downsides might be.

I mirrored the phone to the screen but there is a real and annoying delay between doing something on the phone and having it appear on the screen.

I am hoping that connecting them directly will eliminate / cut the delay dramatically.
