Connecting / Firewall / Norton Problem

My subscription to Norton Internet Security ran out. Instead of paying for the service I chose to uninstall the program. Since then I have not been able to connect to Yahoo! Games server, “Connect” my web cam using Yahoo Messenger, connect to Gamespy Arcade, or Connect to the Warzone server (ewarzone.com).

I have turned off my windows firewall. Opened ports. Yet nothing has worked. I tried to install the norton program again but I do not wish to pay $60 for such an annoying program. The program came installed on my new notebook.

Any suggestions will be greatly apprieated.
