Connecting iBook G4 to Windows Workgroup

Does anyone know how I can connect a iBook G4 to a Windows workgroup? Want the ibook to be able to read and write to files in the workgroup without downloading via FTP. The iBook is getting an IP address via the router and can get to the web. Just can’t browse the workgroup.
