Controlled/Force Windows Update on Client computers

Hello everyone!

I am looking for a solution for our network whereas the client computers are running windows xp or windows 2000. Each computer are being updated individually by their own users whenever windows states they have a new update. This causes repeated windows update download causing the network to use bandwidth.

Is there anyway to have it so that each computers would check if there’s windows update from a server which we have provided a windows update copy to? This way, we’d only do 1 internet download and the rest would be intranet transfers.
