Controller Card

I have recently purchased an IDE controller card. It is a Highpoint Rocket 133. I have windows XP with an Intel P4 motherboard and processor. I am having a problem with it recognizing something is plugged into it. I have already installed the drivers for it and it seems to work ok. Except it won’t recognized a zip drive or harddrive is plugged into it. please help
