Converting from a domain to a workgroup

I am converting a small network of 5 pc’s from a domain to a workgroup because for our purposes a real server and domain is not necessary and I can’t afford to upgrade it.

I know how to set everything up so that the computers see each other. What I don’t know is whether after converting each computer to a workgroup from a domain whether the users will be able to login using the same userids and passwords and have access to the same local files and settings they always had access to while logging into the domain?
