Correct way to add SPF record in Windows 2003 Server’s DNS Server?

I created a TXT record, left the “Record Name” field blank, and put the SPF record text in the “Text” field, of course. Is this going to work? Is there a utility to test an SPF record for a non-internet-connected DNS server? (I know this sounds nonsensical but I have DNS set up in strange ways to compensate for our ISP’s complete and utter incompetence.)
