Could not connect to printer

I have this problem with only one computer, so hopefully it doesnt start spreading before i figure it out.
Basically, I am trying to print to a network printer, on a winnt print server, from a w2k pro workstation. But when I try to add this printer to the workstation, i get “Could not connect to the printer, you either entered a printer name that was incorrect or the specified printer no longer connected to the server”.
I’ve googled it all day to no avail. I’ve installed the printer on other workstations without any hassle, and other printers install fine on this workstation. The printer is a canon ir2200-3300. Any suggestions what to do???
