Crazy raid Question -HP P400

Hi, curious if this would work. looking at a new ML370 server and extra redundancy. if i order the extra P400 sas card and 2nd cage and connect port1 from the first controller to cage1 drives 1-4, then connect port2 from the second controller to drives 5-8 on the second cage. if i loose either controller i could move the cable to the open port on the other controller. Has anyone tried this? in theory it sounds like it should work, any thoughts?
